Self care is essential for a healthy lifestyle. Don’t confuse self care with self indulgence. It’s not at all about being selfish, rather it is about nourishing you mind, body and spirit. Often we are so busy taking care of others that we often forget to take care of ourselves. If you were in a airplane that was losing altitude, the first thing you are told, is to put your own oxygen mask on first, before helping others. The same thing applies to life. Life has it's ups and downs just like a plane going up and down. You need to breathe in your own oxygen before you can care for others.
Take a moment and reflect on what you need this week to nourish yourself. Write down your plans, keep a journal to keep yourself accountable. Whether is is taking a walk on the beach, or watching a sunset or calling a good friend, or taking a nap, reading a good book, buying yourself some flowers or anything your heart desires, make the time, make yourself a priority, You are worth it!
