Random Acts of Kindness
/Yesterday there was another tragic shooting in our country. I am not suggesting we can stop this madness but we can make a healthy choice to show kindness towards all people. Unless you can walk in their shoes, you never know what someone is going through. Smile, hold a door open, pay for someone’s coffee or toll, leave a bigger than usual tip, There are so many acts of kindness you can do, the possibilities are limitless. Numerous scientific studies have shown that the act of kindness has a positive effect on the immune system and on the increased production of serotonin in the brain. Serotonin is a naturally occurring neurochemical that has a calming, mood regulating, and anti-anxiety effect and it’s regarded as a “feel good” substance because it serves as a pathway for pleasure in the brain. Acts of kindness are a healthy choice and a win win!
"If you haven't any charity in your heart, you have the worst kind of heart trouble."
