It's That Time of Year Again

It’s that time of year again when the kids head back to school and most parents struggle with getting their children to eat a healthy breakfast. Make it fun and it does not have to be your traditional breakfast. The most important aspect is to give them a healthy protein filled breakfast that will hold them until lunch time. Here are a few ideas:

Apples cut into wedges, spread some almond , peanut or sunflower butter on them and make a smiley face adding grapes for the eyes.

Take a banana, cut in half, stick a popsicle stick in one end. Spread some greek yogurt on it and dip in granola or coconut, or chopped nuts with mini chocolate chips. ( you can freeze these as well and just take out in the morning).

Nature’s Path makes some great nutritious waffles. Pop them in the toaster and cut into long strips, place in a cup and put some syrup in another cup, kids love to dip anything.

Make a fun sandwich shape made from Nut butter with slices of banana or apples instead of your typical Peanut butter and jelly sandwich.
